When you plan your wedding keep in mind that if you invited people to watch and witness this wonderful moment, you might want to plan so they can.  During the ceremony arrange your bridesmaids and groomsmen so they can see you, but do not block the view of the congregation.  During the reception, keep the lights up high enough that people can see and hear the first dance, toasts, garter, bouquet, and cake cutting.  Consider doing these major events early, so older guests can eat, enjoy the fun and depart at a moderate time.  The party crowd will then be free to dance and have fun as late as you wish.

Outdoor weddings can be lots of fun, but one item should be avoided - do not use a runner, unless it is secured to the ground.  They almost always become a tangled mess on grass.  Flower petals on grass look and work much better.
